Story Overview
 

This skit takes place in a restaurant and involves a waiter offering food to three people. The fun happens when the hands, independent of the body, have to feed the body they are attached to!
 
Cultural Notes
 
Haori 　 are mid-length coats that serve as light coats to be worn over kimonos. Haori were originally meant to be worn by men as part of the hakama (traditional Japanese divided skirt that resembles wide trousers). The original function of the haori was to keep the kimono from being exposed to the elements.
Nininbaorii 　 Its literal translation is "two-person coat" and is the name of an old entertainment performance in which two people get into the same haori (Japanese style coat) and attempt to do things like feed each other, or put makeup on each other's faces. They are able to do this by one person sitting on a chair or on the floor and the other person kneeling behind them. The person in front wears a haori or Japanese jacket to hide the person behind. The hands are the only body parts of the second person that the audience sees.
